Discoverer Poem by Ima Ryma

Discoverer

I watch my four year old son wade
Out into the pond to explore.
Pond's shallow, so I'm not afraid.
We've done this many times before.
It is a time and place for him
To get a closer look at all
That he can sense at nature's whim,
Make known at nature's beck and call.
He waves at me and then points at
Something wondrous that he has found
Beneath the water habitat,
No doubt a treasure to astound.

Discovery, he has the knack.
I watch to see what he brings back.
