Disestablishmentarianism Poem by Lors Dilouley

Disestablishmentarianism

i am torn.
my heart is splitting in two.
i want to go.
i've always longed to flee.
one half searches the world to feel the deepest need.
that half thrives with the faces of the lost.
it bobs within my chest to think of crossing oceans.

the other half is yours.
it has been for awhile now,
yet since you've held it
it has torn it a little from the other half,
for it is not yet clear if the two are meant for each other.
this half churns to know you more deeply.
to feel your heart beating next to it.
it seeks out your character and is in love with your depth.

despite my occasional agony,
You are constant through both halves.
You have ordained that my heart be in this condition
for this time.
and i agree, and i submit
to You, to him, to Your will.
since You are the only One who can attach the two halves,
i will wait.
i am listening.
we are Yours.
