Disillusioned Poem by Angela Marie Lara

Disillusioned

How can you just walk away?
How can you ignore what I want to say?

Just turn your back, head for the door
Just push past me and I am no more.

It is not fair, the way I have been used
And I hurt from long suffered abuse.

Mentally, I am extremely strained
And emotionally, I am utterly drained.

Physically, I am undoubtedly weak
It's hard to find my voice so I can speak.

My hands are shaking; My eyes are red.
These tears are all cried; Past is now dead.

Moments with you are flashing before me,
The times when you lied, cheated and ignored me.

My breath is caught in tightened lungs
But my heart still beats, so you have not won.
