Dispelling Beliefs Kept Blinded Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Dispelling Beliefs Kept Blinded

One with intelligence to embrace it,
Maybe more accepted to not reject.
If that intelligence more reflects,
A race of people...
Who are viewed to produce,
A genius quality..
Subjected races are said can not do.
With or without the evidence,
Historically produced.
Although disputed by those deluded.

Yet...
Incompetence overwhelmingly displayed,
Becomes a mechanism used to defend endlessly.
With an array of excuses to refute the obvious.
Leaving those embarrassed choosing to harass,
Those of 'color' with proven capabilities.
Done to abuse them mentally for amusement.
And this is not a perception.
This is on a daily basis witnessed.
Dispelling beliefs kept blinded in a mindset locked.
Just to keep those insecure feeling superior!
