Ditched?

Thou art a heartless lying jade,
With honeyed words thou cozened me
Thou didst not though one promise keep.
A cause to me of misery.
Thy beauty so ensorsorcelled me
That I could see no fault or flaw
because I did not wish to see.
Now I am wiser than before,
I see beneath thy bright façade
and understand how false thou art.
A lesson learnt, though it was hard
I should have known right from the start..
I wanted so much to believe
that I was easy to deceive..

A 'jade' was once a worthless horse Perhaps a mare or even worse, A stallion gelded to ensure That no offspring would issue. But now a jade can be Perhaps a human such as she or he That by a quick play of the cards Will act in ways, otherwards. But to 'ensorsorcel' one, I suppose Is to never disclose The true meaning of the term Which might cause others to squirm. So we remain as before, Wondering what happened behind that closed door. Alas, alack, and woe is me, Was it you that did deceive? s
