Divine Poem by stephen yusuf

Divine

Faith is divine,
peace is divine,
Likewise the growth of fruits on a vine.
The slender tree creep its weak flexible stem around the surrounding stage
Not complaining, not in defiance, just simply obeying its nature
Twining and turning and twining in ordered sequence
The ecosystem was not its choice; the niche was not its picking either
But the gene of adaptation was the stung of its existence
The destructive flightless creature yet on it peaches
And with its cream-white larva, destroys the root.

Hope is divine,
Grace is divine,
Likewise my love for her, purely define.
From the thin crucible of our fiery passion, refine
Our love burns, burning with an inferno luminance
Burning every chaffy strive and blunder
A consuming fire to any hand that dared to put asunder
The promise of a life together even when our bodies go under
My pacemaker, life is but a voiceless halt without her
But just as the flowers of our green relationship blossom to the top
She looks at me, face without smile or civility and put a full-stop

Breath is divine
Life is divine
But the pain of letting go and moving on is deep in the mind!
