Do Not Give Up (1) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Do Not Give Up (1)

How subtle, demons flood the mind
The devil, teaches well
He’ll send to fool, to make us blind
Disguising truth of hell

His works begin down deep inside
As soon as he arrives
Pleasures we have as Satan’s bride
Will steal our very lives

Seduced to drink his sweetened wine
We wander from our goal
What ere we do, we think is fine
And so we lose our soul

Constant, he’ll tempt us all the way
The devil’s out to kill
He’s out to steal, lead sheep astray
Yet God; is greater still

But will we heed Salvation’s call?
Accept The Father’s view?
Allow the veils of darkness fall?
And start our lives anew?

For like an ostrich, head in sand
The truth, can pass us by
We fail God’s word to understand
Still dumb and blind, we die

It’s Christ God’s Lamb we need to ask
Consult, when things go wrong
For where there’s lies, they’ll wear a mask
Deceit’s their evil song

Truth’s whisper, in the heart will tell
Dark shadows, come to light
Then every demon bound for hell
Must bow to Jesus’ might…PTO…
