Do we...

Do we really love?
Or do we just want someone to hold
or someone to hear us
Do we want a warm body
Or a soft laugh
Do we love or do we love the idea of love
is it something beautiful that we cant reach
Is it the distant cry of a vulture
Ready to scoop up the prey in full
are we that consumed in finding love
Something to quiver our bones
make our hearts skip beats
Or reel our heads.
I say that when I look at him its close
The sun sets and I know he'll be there
Ready to catch me, ready to hold me
So is it love?
We shall see.

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Thomas Wyatt

Farewell love and all thy laws forever;
Thy baited hooks shall tangle me no more.
Senec and Plato call me from thy lore
