Christina Byrd Poems

I am a mess
I must confess
When you left the world was crashing
Images of me and you keep flashing
...

It spreads
It takes all of your energy
It can be seen in drastic amounts
So what is it?
...

I thought I wouldn't care if I saw your face again
but when I see your name a pain runs deep
every song I hear reminds me of us dancing
All the sweet tastes are your kisses
...

What happens when others outshine you
When their glory rays burn out your image
When their beauty blinds everyone to only look at them
and yet you still love them as family
...

Through the window I stare
To move I do not dare
For the wind is whipping
And the roof is dripping
...

There's nothing behind your touch
We aren't equivalent to much
The electricity was never made
The power of a kiss will fade
...

Sometimes when I'm sleeping
I lay here trying to start dreaming
I only seem to find butterflies on the wall
Instead of my prince at the ball
...

I cant help but stare
I'm not looking at anything
Nothing in particular
My thoughts keep going
...

My temper flares in an instant
I have no control of my emotions
I go from happy to sad with one word
It runs in the bloodline
...

Made and broken with no grief
Stolen away like a thief
When it cracks you break apart
everything pours from your heart
...

Do we really love?
Or do we just want someone to hold
or someone to hear us
Do we want a warm body
...

A gift from on high
your love was never a lie.
Your prayer was so strong
It made my ways wrong.
...

Anticipation forms
Butterflies perform
I can barley breathe
The excitement seethes
...

I got a taste of you
A sample of what could be.
Then you left me
Awaiting your return
...

Love is not a new concept
The stars aren't a new discovery
The ocean's waves are as new as the beginning of time
yet all these things fill me with endless wonder
...

All of us have a different lense
Some use it to view evil
others for justice
Some lenses are creative
...

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul,
but even if you were to find nothing would you still pay the toll?
They say what is truth?
and I tell you friends, it is not just around the booth.
...

As your father holds your baby hands,
on that autumn day
the wind whips at your backs and combs through your hair
Little do you both know,
...

The only stars I see tonight are your eyes
and the only moon I see is the one shining down on us
Its rays amplify our instant connection
Its beauty gives us hope
...

The Best Poem Of Christina Byrd

No Not Again

I am a mess
I must confess
When you left the world was crashing
Images of me and you keep flashing
You did your worst
Now I'm cursed
There is an empty space
Everyone has your face
Life has never been the same
My walk has turned lame
I'm always thinking of you
Do you think of me too?
Probably not
I cry on the cot
Everything's gone
I was just another pawn
Then another walks in
Loving him is a sin
No not again
Too soon Big Ben!
My heart cant take it
So now I sit
Never to stand again
