Do you remember the days
When tablets were something you took
When mobiles weren't the latest craze
And a book was - well just a book?
Not Kindle or even a Nook?
Now you eagerly eye a phone
You Skype a friend - you Face your Book
So you don't feel quite so alone
You have a myriad of friends
And even more acquaintances
Pics taken with an hd lens
Shared with your friends and devices
Year by year pixels multiply
Soon they will number trillions
Television screens wide with HDMI
And smart too for lots of reasons
Can you recall when a hard disk
Was a brittle shellac record?
If so you're scared to take a risk
'Case you lose data by the hoard
Windows like doors were for houses
Viruses would spread polio
Trojans Achilles' enemies
And Apple The Beatles' logo
Chips were potatoes fried deeply
Or carpenters' leftover bits
Google a goggle spelled wrongly
Not these things that now test your wits
Music was not binary bits
But grooves on a vinyl surface
And it didn't sound like the pits
But brought a warm glow to your face
Do you remember the day
When a phone was just for speaking
Albums (not cds) were long play
A mouse a furry little thing?
All this advanced technology
Without it how did we manage?
Imagination was the key
Pleasures without hi-tech bondage
Do you remember those days?
Maybe it's old-cliched glasses
Through misty pink romantic haze
But things were better by masses
