Do You See Me? Poem by Ryan Roberson

Do You See Me?

Do you see me? Do you really see me? I could turn myself inside out and you would only measure the distance from flesh to bone. The depth of me can not be scaled by the mere circumference of rib cage but by the infinite continuum of imaginative thought. In which case those with two eyes could not behold a mass of such magnificence. Do you know me? Do you really know me? Forget the familiar contours of my face and focus more on the familiar nebulae beneath my brow. Vast star systems existing between tissue and cranium cap but boundless as it lines a fathomless innerspace of possibilities. And as neurons take their lightspeed journey from cerebral cortex to Achilles heel, my immortal light slips in hidden memories of past lives. To awaken with in me the starseed side of the extraterrestrial sapien blend, I am.
