When I meet a patient who suffers,
from terminal stage of cancer
all I can do is giving strong pain-killers,
so that his pain get lesser.
When I meet a patient with mood depressed,
all I can do is to give a pat,
on his shoulder,
encouraging him not to surrender,
prescribing some anti-depressant pills,
elevating his living will.
When I meet a patient so old and frail,
lying chronically in bed for the longest day,
all I can do is giving a stroke on the hair,
in a soft and gentle manner.
Although I have many types of scanner,
and lab tests for study further and further,
Although I have many different medicines,
a rapid cure they can bring,
Although the medical technology so advanced,
for preventing the death it has no chance.
I am just a normal physician.
I am not a magician.
I have no magic wand.
'To live or to die 'is in God's hand.
