Does Your Conscience Bother You Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Does Your Conscience Bother You

Rating: 5.0

Do you sleep great at night?
Do you wake up with a fright?
Do your palms sometimes sweat?
Do you look around and fret?

Can you feel the eyes of the other?
Have you screwed a friend or another?
These are all questions you should ask,
Or maybe someday, you'll be taken to task?

Have you cheated with your heart?
Have you jumped before the others start?
In a con, have you taken a part?
Are you sure that you are that smart?

Do you play the con game?
Have you lied just the same?
Are you lying right now?
Are you sure that you know how?

Can you fool everyone all the time?
Does someone think that you're slime?
Are there truths, that you need to climb?
Have you ever committed a crime?

If any of these statements are true,
Then the universe is not through with you.
Listen to what your conscience is telling you to do.
Turn over a new leaf and start anew.
The Lord is surely watching you!
