Most will never know the reason, sense nor rhyme.
Not worth a plug nickel, a little bigger than a dime.
May not look like much but to me it's sublime.
It's been in that same spot for such a long time.

Sometimes I don't think of for a couple of days.
Then from the corner of my eye, it'll catch my gaze.
Kind of like it's calling me with old familiar phrase.
Words like yesterday, forever, never and or always.

It's been there so long, it's now covered in dust.
Some move on with life, others struggle to adjust.
At times you stand strong, others you just rust.
Some days it's a gentle breeze, others a wind gust.

Where it sits, it always seems to catch the light.
Even when it's dark and only the stars out at night.
At times my it's my rock, at others my kryptonite.
Doesn't mean much, I wish I may, I wish I might.

It once was yours, though now I guess itmine.
It's been there since that day, no it's not a shire.
Really didn't stage it, things sometime just align.
The last thing you touched, didn't do it by design.
