Dogs Did It Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Dogs Did It

Dogs did it

I was in farms, gardens
-which are my favorites.
-the pathways selected
-were mostly gravel…
-to them am accustomed
-from birth in village!

Daydreaming, I walked
-and enjoyed sun, sky
-and breeze of the heights
-till barked dogs!

I escaped from them;
-was on run and scared.

The distance between us
-got shorter and enlarged.

Felt the need to go pee.

Looked over my shoulder
-dogs were far; I stopped.

Was too late when I felt
-that in fact was in bed.

I recall how got up
-spread the mattress
-on fence of my aunt's house.

Silently, noiselessly
-locked the door of her house
-where I had been a guest…
-she never talked of it
-and I saw book closed!

It was so till one day
-my child had wetted bed…
-and my Mom was our guest.
-She, calmly, with patience
-told me of the aunt's house!
