'' Don't Falter '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Don't Falter ''

I was broken hearted,
When she and I parted,
Not for the reasons you think,
Into waters uncharted,
A new chapter started,
She said I'll watch as you sink.

Soon suffering doubt,
I was left without,
I then lost my children and home,
It was a rout,
The judge declared, out,
The streets are where you will roam.

Adultery she committed,
But she was acquitted,
The judge said I was to blame,
Through teeth gritted,
Her cheating was permitted,
While I was left feeling shame.

Under attack,
She said you will crack,
I'll take you for everything you own,
She got a stack,
But I fought back,
Very soon her cover was blown.

I kept to my vow,
I'm better off now,
My life is empty of strife,
I will never allow,
My past to cow,
I'm now enjoying my life.

Hindsight is dead,
I no longer feel bled,
The past I accept I can't alter,
As I sit in the Med,
Being watered and fed,
If caught in my position,
