Don'T Fool Yourself Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Don'T Fool Yourself

Just the thought of you with someone other than me brings me to tears
Most of my time is spent obsessing over you
It gets so bad I lie to friends
Because, I know they won't approve
You were a chapter in my life I had to end
Reminiscing of times I cherished with you most
Got to leave it all in the past
No, I won't take you back!
Got to remind myself of where I stand
'I love you, I missed you'
It's nothing but lies
You could never give me what I need
Isn't that the reason it ended?
Don't worry yourself about losing me
wasn't that a goal you've already accomplished?
There is no emotional pull toward you
nor do I have an interest to pursue us
As with life some regret breaking up
Until you start to see the obvious
understanding that you were not quite right
Realizing the truth
that the two of you weren't meant
Reality is it's nothing here
you need to let go and move on
You're where you are for a reason
Learn to deal with it
Your feelings of guilt will soon pass
