Don'T Go Poem by Fathimath Farha

Don'T Go

Love the wind blowing on your face?
Smile when joy comes your way?
Do you fume when someone tests your limits?
Do you weep for someone you’ve lost?

Have you feared the emotion that comes with losing?
Have you doubted the motives of your deeds?
Have you looked back ever with regrets over-flowing?
Have you ever thought that I could feel the same?

I was hurt when you walked away,
My heart throbbed with pain,
My eyes pursued your steps,
Searching for redemption in vain.

Do I not look like to you,
A creature with feelings so true?
Have I never come across you,
As someone who plainly needs you?

I’ve made mistakes a-plenty,
I’ve caused you miseries I can’t undo.
Yet, all I’m asking for is another try,
The chance to make it up to you.

Don’t walk away like that,
Please listen to what I’ve to say.
I’m begging you, a request,
To take me back,
Saving me from further dismay.

If you don’t turn around right now,
I swear I will run away,
Run to a place which no one knows,
And never look back, before Ieaving,
Forever, after falling short of the love,
For which I will sleep for eternity.

Is the persona in this poem making a threat to kill herself or himself? I love this poem.
