Let Them Fall... Poem by Fathimath Farha

Let Them Fall...

I thank god. I thank the power in His might.
For all that I was given and am still receiving.
But most of all, I thank Him for you.
I thank Him for gifting me the most wonderful person.
The person I now love most.
The person I endear most.

Look at these tears as they fall from my eyes.
I’m so glad, I’m so grateful, and what else can I do?
Hold me close; hold me like you always do.
Whisper to me, whisper softly, I need to hear you
I need to know that you are here.
I need to know that you are close.
I need to know that I’m safe.

Don’t let these tears stop you.
They’re just silent words that wandered long,
Lost, without a cause for all these years.
They’re now free from my world of despair.
Let them fall, let them fall thorough.
Let them run, let them break away.
You have won them their freedom.
And I thank thee whole-heartedly.
The one who graciously ended my misery.
