Don’t Work For Satan Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Don’t Work For Satan

We’re saved by grace, through Jesus’ blood
God’s Spirit makes us strong
We try to live the way we should
Yet much can still go wrong

When Christians hate in place of love
The devil’s work is done
We help oppose God’s will above
And that of Christ His Son

We harm a brother just as Cain
The Lord our God is grieved
The devil’s work’s yet done again
Once more; we’ve been deceived

With lust; we greet our neighbour’s wife
With Satan’s deep desire
His will can so destroy our life
To end within hell’s fire

He’s out to kill, deceive and rob
To tempt the chosen few
Yet still we ease for him his job
Through every sin we do

This work must stop! it’s not a game
We need to turn and fight
Take up the sword in Jesus’ name
When Satan crawls in sight

Resist the foe and he shall flee
This statement’s more than true
Just trust in Christ, then truly see
The devil slink from view

We need not suffer Adam’s fate
When learning his mistake
Obey! The Lord, before too late
Or burn in Satan’s lake……
