Don'T You Love Me? Poem by Josh Burnett

Don'T You Love Me?

Don't you love me?
Don't you want to hug me?
Can you not stand to touch me?

There's no more love, crushed, bruised, used, abused, played like a ragdoll
Sometimes I feel that you enjoy treating me like a hungry dog
I never really ever feel I treated you with so much wrong
You blame my flaws, I'm lost, said I caused the need to say so long

Sometimes I feel that you were never really there
You cried, I showed you just how much I really cared
Just for an instant it felt my lungs could not breathe air
You left me when I was here for you, empty and bare

Don't you love me?
You don't want to hug me?
Can you not stand to touch me?
Have you already had enough of me?
Do you not love me?

Said I made you mad, felt bad, sad, then turn around and was glad
When I was gone I held on so strong but you had to stab
You had to start, scarred, torn apart, broken heart, made it so hard
Then turned right around and expected to hear my heart say forgiveness

Sometimes I feel that you were never really there
You cried, I showed you just how much I really cared
Just for an instant it felt my lungs could not breathe air
You left me when I was here for you, empty and bare

Can you not kiss me?
Do you not miss me?
Don't you love me?
You don't want to hug me?
Can you not stand to touch me?
Have you already had enough of me?
Do you not love me?

Don't you want to hold my hand?
I don't understand
I was there to make your stand
I could've been your man

Sometimes I feel that you were never really there
You cried, I showed you just how much I really cared
Just for an instant it felt my lungs could not breathe air
You left me when I was here for you, empty and bare

Do you not want to kiss me?
Do you not miss me?
Do you not love me?
Do you not want to hug me?
Can you not stand to touch me?
Have you already had enough of me?
Do you not love me?
