Its better to have remorse than regret
And reap the best benifits of a risk, better yet
As years go by and mistakes pile up
I find it oddly easier to lift a smile up
Life is so much better when you are actually living it
Vice the old me's way of just giving in
And doing anything to stay unnoticed
My mind scrambling from one metaphor to the next

Nice bit of writing. I wonder if you've taken it literally as I don't see anything posted here since May. Your opening line intrigued me. I've never really thought about the difference between remorse and regret...and now I see that remorse leads to self-improvement, while regret just leads someone to feel bad about their actions, but not really change them. These lines are great fodder for a song and for life. The last line is poetic...my mind scrambling from one metaphor to the next...a literary search for meaning. Well done. Take care.
