Doubtness Poem by Alex McCullough

Doubtness

Resting in this bed with you,
Remembering all our hardships,
I can't abandon you now,
Or rather I don't ever want to.
Alone at the end of this road,
Standing before the rough past I put behind me,
The abyss in my heart crawls up my back,
Growing larger by each doubt,
As it call echos in my mind,
Blocking out your voice.
But even so,
You use your iron will,
To smash these doubts away,
Reminding me the reason,
Why I need you the most,
So I can stand before my fears,
Without being frightened of the darkness,
Using these tears of joy,
To wash away all this sadness,
Like a flower in a hurricane,
Holding its ground till the end,
Even if its hopeless,
I have to fight with everything I've got,
Just so then I can show the person,
You worked so hard to make.
