Doubts

The running race goes on and on
Day and night with sun and moon
They are in motion without commotion.
Even in revolution or in a rotation.
Though pace of my life's journey
Synchronizes well with them
Still why they snatched
my golden youth?

Like a kite with broken tether
Which is flying hither and thither
hand in hand with the wind
Who wanders.
I too wish to glide in breeze
as a bird of prey, the kite
or to fly like broken kite
to liberate myself from all bonds
by wiping pent up miseries inside me.
Is it plausible or is it possible?
Both queries left unanswered yet.

Mighty ocean witnessess daily
What is unconditional love amidst
the waves and golden shore.
The dancing waves embrace the shore
With a multitude of soothing hands
Her horripilating moments just
go away with retreating waves.
Lonliness overwhelms the shore
Thus at times discord sometimes concord,
their bondage never splits asunder
Is it a myth or is it a fact?
Will true love exist for ever?

One leg ahead, one leg behind
When we walk all the while.
The former does not feel honoured
Though it is put forth first
The latter has no regret though
When it is left in hinder most.
They know themselves within no time
One which is in front will go back,
the one in rear will come forward.
Our life is moving in that manner
Joyfulness and sadness both
making entry in our life
one after one at a time
where ups and downs are inevitable.
How to face it, how to chase it?
I am confused a little bit.

When umpteen failures invade us
May be no one lends a helping hand.
Then those who stick to us are none
Our own shadows round the clock,
though we are in glee or glum.
Is this a fact or just a piece of imagination?

Words wince to come out while
woes wobble in the wynd of mind.
Sorrows overflowing eyes
Turned as hot and salty pools
Trickling teardrops as a prayer
With no hesitance waft to God
in a silky quill of ardent trust.
I wonder grief is our own friend or foe?

All these endless chain of doubts
That seemed as puzzles or riddles
Not a single one from them
Can't be analyzed till this day.

Day and night with sun and moon They are in motion without commotion. I am sorry to have missed your poetry, Mallika ji. This is the first of your poems that I have read and it goes into the list of my favourite poems. It has a substantial philosophical content, analyses of human behaviour and its analogy with nature around us. Thought provoking. Thanks. I too wish to glide in breeze to liberate myself from all bonds where ups and downs are inevitable.

Hi Mallika, A wonderful poem on the intrigues of life. Anantham Ajnatham AvarNaneeyam Ee lOka golam thiriyunna margam. Athingal engadoritathirunnu Nokkunna marthyan kadhayenthu kantoo! And when we allow 'failures to invade us we are submitting to the unknown! Which we should not. these endless chain of doubts That seemed as puzzles or riddles Not a single one from them Can be analyzed.. (I think the word can't needs to be corrected as can.) Rishis of yore spent the entire life seeking answers to these very questions. The way they intrigue us to day, they intrigued those sages all over the world, thousands of years back. No answer yet! ! ! ! ! Beautiful.10 these endless chain of doubts That seemed as puzzles or riddles Not a single one from them Can't be analyzed

Doubts pester us at each step of life. You have described the problem very well in this poem with appropriate imagery. You have chosen life's situations well as examples to drive home your point. Good poetry. It was racy reading. Thanks for inviting me to read your poem. (10)

Doubts make our actions and words indecisive, if we doubt ourselves it is a lack of confidence that plunders and robs our joy. You have vividly portrayed in beautiful imagery the need for release of disabling thoughts and feelings. To allow ourselves to experience freedom like the ocean embracing the shore it's waves dancing in joy at the depth of release of all worries and to write freedom on the soft sand. The wind our ally opening our minds to life like the wide expanse of sea and sky. Stunning write!
