Down A Lonely Street Poem by Thomas Noel Smith

Down A Lonely Street

Somewhere in the shadows
There’s a bed
That waits for me

At the end of a lonely street
A small dark room
Waits for me

Somewhere in me
There’s a man
Who fears the darkening shadows
And sees nightmare figures
Lurking around each corner

But I know there’s a room
That waits for me
Where I’ll find a bed
Where I’ll find rest
And peace

At the end of a lonely street
