Oh lay me to rest, down in the valley.
That's where I wish to be.
Though throughout this land I chose to sally,
There will my soul be free.
Oh I will go down to the valley,
I can see it in my mind.
Then maybe my spirit will at last rally,
And peace at last, I hope to find.
Down to the valley, where my heart dwells,
Sitting under clear blue skies.
To break the bars of these golden cells,
And dry the tears around my eyes.
Down to the valley to breath my last,
Where orange blossoms fill the air.
The place where my future, is my past,
Down to the valley, my valley so fair.
