Drain On My Brain Poem by Ian Clark

Drain On My Brain

You always tell me what to do
forcing me to act out whats best for you
don't ever worry what goes on in my mind
cause you're too dumb to notice, or just too blind

for far too long you've held me in your reins
switched me on and off like I'm plugged to your mains
just for once I'm going to go my own way
this time I won't listen to a word you say

you put a drain on my brain
gonna flush you out
cause I never want to be the same again

you put a drain on my brain
gonna push you out
cause I never want to see your face again

you do your best to hide under my skin
I try to talk, but nothing goes in
the way you feel makes me feel much better
I've turned myself into a real go getter

not too much going on in your world
you pay your debts I watch your life unfold
looking back nothing much has changed
as I try to escape from a life so strange
