Ah lake, full of lilies, what a scene!
Lotuses blossoming well within,
I'd go there to enjoy,
To be mad, mad with joy
And then I'll sing along my drone bin.
And reality
Night shall get over soon,
Dawn shall dawn, sets when Moon,
Sun shall rise, lotus shall smile no doubt,
So thinking captive he stayed there put,
A Big Trunk when pulled the lotus out.

A drone bee dreams at a lily pond. But things do not pan out as per the dream. While it was lost dreaming the lotus folds up with the sun setting. Yet, instead of cutting through the petals and getting free, it decides not to harm its love, but wait till next morning when with the sun rising lotus petals would open up. But alas, an elephant uproots the lotus.

Thanks Dr Swain for appreciating the poem. You are as much a lover of poetry as this drone bee, who as the lover of lotus can't think of harming it, preferring rather to suffer an ill fate.

So thinking captive he stayed there put, A Big Trunk when pulled the lotus out.........what a Topsy- turvy. There is much difference between dream and reality. A brilliant poem is astutely delineated. Thank you dear sir for sharing this gem.10
