Dreams And Sacrifice Poem by Laquory Jones

Dreams And Sacrifice

It seems like everyday as I go through these moments
Writing these words which I feel to be golden feeling as
If they're truly my poetry in motion forgive me of that
Notion it's just my mind's my vehicle my locomotion
But way back deep within my conscience part of me is
Screaming (no, Richie you're just a loco in motion)
Perhaps I've left myself too open as my thoughts
Comes in streams barricading themselves deep inside
With pure doubt hitting at an all-time high I find myself
Looking up to the skies as if the stars were a guide

At night that's when they truly shine not one ever seem
Too far behind with the constellations within sight and
Plotted on its dotted line some things are alloted like time
Have you ever just wanted to press the rewind
I hate that clock as it chimes it's only there to remind
Me of all the times that I've wasted do you ever feel as if
Life has gotten too basic you keep running as your pacing
To all these dreams you keep chasing but you're feeling as
If you're just walking in place and while trying to overcome
Odds to break even you find out it's just not your season
(Tell me have you ever been there?)

That's when I self reflect digging into my intellect
Knowledge and power begins to intercept
Will I ever feel truly complete as I try to find at
Least 10 things about myself that's unique
I've wondered where's my life's going (who knows)
But it's a mystery but I know one thing that
I'm an working masterpiece and that keeps my
Mind at constant ease granting me Peace and
Serenity it helps to a degree as I wear my heart
Upon my sleeves with a dose of emotions
Cascading deep within my bloodstream so tell
Me How far will you go to achieve your dreams
If that meant sacrificing everything and in between
