Dreams Of You Poem by Gertrude the Weirdo

Dreams Of You

As I lay here silently
Late at night
I wonder if you'll haunt my dreams once more
I wonder if I'll dream at all
Maybe I'll only have nightmares
Maybe I'll wake up wishing you were there
To protect me and give me comfort

As I lay here silently
Watching the minutes tick by
I hope I dream of you
Because a dream just isn't a dream without you
I hope my dreams come true
But I know they never will
So I must live in my dreams
To avoid facing reality

As I lay here silently
And take a deep breath
I close my eyes
And wish for dreams of you
I fill my head with images of you
Wishing for them to seep into my dreams
But I know I'm too tired to dream
And I know I'll go another night
Without dreaming of you 3
