Dribbling Tears

Dribbling Tears
(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

My heart floats in rapture
When I hear the rustling of leaves
In the trees on a breezy night
Murmur of bees and chirping of sparrows
Very often create jubilant ripples
In my swirling veins and numbing arteries
At the hour of florid mornings of luscious spring
Chattering of Magpies and screeching of parrots
At the fag end of cracking day
Make me happy as the droning bees
After gathering much needed nactor
When flowers bloom in the garden
Along with plaintive robin song
My dancing heart beats in joy
As the rhythm of heavenly hoofers
But when she screams in agony
In the faint light of devastating night
And tears dribble from her burning eyes
Like the drizzle of shameless rainy days
My heart breaks into pieces
As the shattering pellucid glass
Her dribbling tears terrify me
As the phantom of windy nights
I feel the cheering power of hallowed and blessed love
That made me whisper, that made me murmur
But now i terribly and ruefully discern
Her pathetic groaning and poignant screaming
Very often disable me
In the twilight of frangible and fugacious day.
