Driven Poem by Natalie Castro

Driven

If you’d ask me about you
I’d say you’ve driven me to the edge
Grabbed me by the wrists
Drove the blade through my stomach
Watched the blood run and the moan coming from my lips
And you stared at me and murmured,
“I love you” as I wept
You brushed my tears away
And kissed me
You forced me to like this
So I twisted my fingers in your hair
And heard your purr
You’ve driven me to the edge I say
My mind says no, my body says yes
Cut me open, ripped out my heart
Devoured it like a demon
And replaced it with a copy of yours
You’ve driven me to the edge
Though I can’t deny I love it
