Dying Immortality Poem by Opeyemi Borisade

Dying Immortality

Rating: 5.0

I'd always thought me to be immortal at heart
A being of unyielding emotions
Piercing through the nets of affection with the edge of my will
Standing sure & confident only in I
How did I get caught in a web strong as this?
One that broke the blade that bears my immortality
You caught my eyes the moment I saw you
And never let go of my heart from the moment it pictured your face
Wonder how you got a hold on me so easily
Whatever it is about you that holds me so
The ancient showed up in my dream
& told me of a mystery unknown to my limited mind
Only angels will attract angels...
...you are an angel!
