Eating Me Up Poem by Elijah Reed

Eating Me Up

My emotions, they control my ways
and all of what they make leaves me out of it for days.
I wish they were like books, I'd read them all to myself
and when I reach a bad one, stick it in the back of the shelf.
But their not, and there isn't a single thing to do about it.
They hungry now, serve me up, chew me raw, and they just spit
me out, no longer satified with the flavor
of the pain that I emit, they want something they can savor.
But all the damage they do eating me raw takes the sweetness from my life.
They think to tenderise the meat, but they to rough and they just cut me like a knife.
And when love comes up to the table, there wasn't any left overs, all gone.
-
Love goes hungry, turns sour
wrecks my world whithin the hour.
Plenty of casualties in it's tantrum, 'cause it's the strongest feeling of all.
So whenever it starves, another emotion takes the fall.
Emotional cannibalism fills the hunger, may the strongest feeling stand tall!
-
The monster love became is now called rage
it's so damn dangerous i have to keep it in a cage
But rage is smart, it's just bright enough to wait
untill my only option is to use myself as bait.
So I sit in the light waiting
to become a victom of my own hating
rage, the abomination of my love.
It get's no recognition from above.
And when it finally enters the trap,
I lock us both inside in a snap.
And even though everyone else is safe,
I die in shame of what i have created.
