Eating The Peeling Poem by RIC BASTASA

Eating The Peeling

Who’s gonna tell you
What to eat and
what to throw away?
Nobody you say.
And I watch you eat
The peel and not the
Flesh of the yellow banana.
And you smirked again
Asking me
Who’s gonna tell me
What to eat and throw away?
And in contempt of my
Presence like I do not
Exist
You eat the peel
And throw away the flesh.

I know you didn’t like it.
But I know you didn’t like me more.
