Echoes Of You (10-23-07) Poem by Bobbie Jean Wright

Echoes Of You (10-23-07)

Rating: 3.8

long ago I watched you leave
yet the place we were before
is still warm
(from your touchwhisperbreath)
I am fingerprinted with your cobalt ether
and though I am eager to release
this stricken curse
(this infinate emptiness)
my fingertips defy me
typing only the sounding resonance
of my heart
(echoes of your love)
I scrub at these unwanted marks
until my skin is swollen
(bleeding of you)
But the flesh that replaces
my (self-inflicted) wounds
also harbors your heat
I am bound
(by my own demise)
to a future with you...
(or a future with you)
