Edge Of The Heaven Poem by Himanshu Sanghani

Edge Of The Heaven

At the edge of the ocean
I crossed my legs
and sat as quietly as I could,
not that I had lost my way
or feared someone,
but to see those shining grains roll
to reach and talk to the waves

I thought,
the grains will spread its colour
and will simply sink,
but every time the waves
pushed and brought the glitters
back to the brink.
With shells and corals
with gems and diamonds
they never looked at them
leaving behind as if
the waves is the only place to be

I dived through the sleeves of treasure
and questioned
Why do leave the corals behind?
won't it gives the colour
why do leave the diamonds behind?
won't it give the shine
why do leave the gems behind?
won't it give the power

Just then a crab rolled out from the handful
and dived straight for the bubbles
even he left the desires behind
for the glory or for the shine.

Seeing the crab float in the waters
I sensed, it is not the treasure,
for treasure will always be there,
but the moment of freedom.
I was sitting right there
on the edge of the heaven.
