Eggs And Ham Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Eggs And Ham

Rating: 4.5

Love is a disease spread in all directions.
An infectious cough wrecking havoc on the immune system.
There is no cure, no liquid elixir to cure this aliment.
No guarantee from the mass producer on it's product.
As it only can suppress it's symptoms.
It comes commonly to unknowing eyes, an feeling felt deep
spreading throughout the heart, finding lungs in mid breath.
There is no clear reason to why Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall.
A steep cliff to the heights felt from loves buzz.
A bee in flight, territorial in emotion. A loud sneeze drawing closer to it's immanent demise,
Although the fall was short, his impact was devastating.
The loss of yolk seeping through across the concrete,
His diaphragm torn in proportion, handkerchief laid waded on the ground.
The thought of scraped penny loafers laid motionless against the ground.
There was no cure given by the doctor as they told his weary heart
it was out of there hands, to find comfort in another, the everlasting gift that cures everything in a moment's time.
The constant headache if she'd respond if he leaped head first.
The lovely ham that gave slices of her love.
He loved her deeply, letting his body follow his eyes in infatuation.
Wobbling about on a ladder of bricks, taking a seat to rest momentarily.
Was it an selfish act of love that made him fall, bag filled eyes that longed for a moments rest.
Dried yolk, fried hard against the heated concrete.
The king's men and all of there horses had a great feast
as Humpty Dumpty's slice of ham wept eternally with a piece of him
on her fork
