Eid Comes With Joy
Shakil Ahmed.
Again happy Eid has come
To root out our evils and vice,
That have coiled up in our heart,
In the form of animal sacrifice.
Pet animals are sacrificed
To propitiate the Almighty
What Ibrahim did long ago
To obey the command of his deity.
After the end of holy Hajj
Eid comes with ringing bell of mirth,
And God showers rahmat and barkat
In the vales and hills of this earth
God forgives the sinners
On the occasion of this holy day.
God deprives none from his mercy
If they just repent and pray.
O people of this planet,
Let's enjoy with full jest.
But don't cross the limit.
It is the great God's behest.
In the day of Eid-ul-Adha
Tables are adorned with chicken and mutton.
We eat with full satisfaction
Just like an unfed glutton.
The rich gives the share of meat
To all the poor and needy.
Everybody takes sumptuous food
No one remains empty or greedy.
We go for prayer in a Eidgha,
Donning our new dress.
We embrace each other
To get great God's grace.
Eid comes with joy and happiness
Beyond measure,
Twice in a year,
People enjoy this pleasure.
