Elite Society To Poverty Craves A Buzz Fix Poem by Terence George Craddock

Elite Society To Poverty Craves A Buzz Fix

jetsetters may fast roam this world in jets
seeking out shic sun warmth trendy locations
an exclusive whos who elite money friends
club feasting on desires needs new experiences
elite foods will service gourmet requirements
connoisseur discerning palate exquisite tastes
to wine dine with no thought to poverty lines
gastronomic economic arts heritage rare bloods

privileged society may feast at fine restaurants
common society may feast at drive in fast foods
privileged society may holiday at elite resorts locations
common society may holiday local with cheap budgets
escape may be couch movie TV internet close bars pubs
tragedy lockdown guillotined lifestyles with house stops

borders closures meant no travel no leaving houses
shopping traditional escape techniques restrictions
internet shopping internet entertainment rapid booms
step into more cigarettes alcohol medical happy pills
an iceberg upsurge in depression anxiety loneliness
causes a demand for any easily obtained near by fixes

unhappiness a need to escape grind unpleasant realities
was prime reason for need demand for social addictions
a precise reason for medically prescribed happiness pills
intoxicating drink addictive substances because realities
too painful too unpleasant too soul crushing were pains
people desired to flee intense pain demands escape exits
