Elusive πŸ’ž Poem by Sandra Black

Elusive πŸ’ž

Rating: 5.0

She walks around with a smile on her face
And not one person in the whole wide world
Knows the reason for her quickened pace
The world can see the glow on her skin
The light that now shines from within

She is walking on a bed of air
Her lamp is lit
Her painting complete
The missing piece is now replete
She has found the perfect pleat

She hums along the path
Rhymes in her head like Miss Plath
She kisses and hugs
And holds herself tight
She is filled with secret delight

All around her
People stopped and stared
What is it with this woman
With the grey on her head
Has she lost her mind instead?

They watch as she goes about her chores
Which were seemingly a bore before
Surely she must be on some secret pill
What could possibly give her so much thrill?
Could she be possibly going downhill?

They scarce dare question her why
They know her answer and her reply
They move away and let her be
From their hearts they let out a sigh
She has finally found elusive love for all to see
