Embrace Poem by Vision Ghost

Embrace

Why so much aggression in a world already suffering
From what is the surge of intolerance toward the living
From one uniqueness to the next, lost in the crowds
Dimmed perceptions gathered, from darkened shrouds

That we are blind to the constellations of so many stars
When we’re gathered by the luxury of showing off scars
Forgetting the pain that caused them in the first place
So fathom a journey onward, carrying memories race

Many people we avoid in the rush to achieve ourselves
Whilst forgetting we’re objects placed randomly on shelves
But fighting hard to select some sense of individuality
To think of our unique selves, as the next thing differently

As we rush from the beginning to the end of another day
Always the suns too hot but yearn when it turns to grey
Sense of shelter deterred by wanting what we cannot take
And thus leave to love untouched for what we all stake

Sense of living, in a world blinded to so much potential
Only ever coerced and concerned by what is essential
And forlorn the way to accept the hand of a stranger
We think we are happy we don’t see what is prettier

Can we not for a second reach back instead of forwards
Revive some sense of freedom from knowledge onwards
To another sunrise when the world is a different place
And awaken to the mirror showing some different face

Or is it just so hard now, for us to accept a different way?
The motion of always forwards in an endless rush today
Too much left unconsidered in some virtue or of grace
Tell me have we now forgotten just what it is to embrace?
