Empty Promises Poem by Phillip Robertson

Empty Promises

Rating: 5.0

Life is just a promise
Just a miracle that we were given
Without it, what would we be?
nothing……
Just nothing
No shell in which a man hides can escape from reality
When the clock strikes twelve
On a clear stary night
Noone can escape
No matter how hard we try
We cannot escape
Yet we are promised so much
And yet what do we really get?
nothing…..
Just nothing
What is it we really receive?
nothing…
Just nothing

A very brave, honest, but not necessarily true piece. Well done. This is a powerful and strong poem that has an impact right away. I wish you well, take care. x.
