Empty Walls Poem by Wardah Arshad

Empty Walls

The darkness surrounds me,
As I wait alone,
In these four walls I see,
Figures shifting through the room.
The stories echoes in the silence,
The tear stains the paints,
The last scream absorbed by the walls secret waves.
Yet in this room I wait,
The silence no longer exists,
But the voices of who were are heard,
Each with a story so different,
Left behind for this world!
These empty walls no longer stand,
They collapse to my feet,
But as I get up leaving,
These walls again build in front of me.
I hear laughter of people I cannot see,
I scream to keep my sanity,
Suddenly these tear stained walls collapse,
But build up again right in front of me.
