Holding onto what has passed,
Failing to welcome what's to come,
Memories remain, with such deep impact
Sitting in the morning sun.
Dwelling in the depths of grief,
Holding back in misery,
There is joy that lies beneath,
Happiness gained is down to me.

2) Such specimens are rare. Very rare. We tend to brood over our grief and make no effort to come out of it.
Well said Jayne. But very hard to practice.still, I have a neighbor who bear her total loss, bitter grief with a magnificent smile.
Lovely poem Jayne, but I have let go of the past, and focus on the present and hope the future can organise itself.
