I long for the night,
When I'll hold you so tight,
In my dreams,
Once again we are young,
We are there on the beach,
Old age out of reach,
It's a fine day,
And we're having fun,
We sit on the sand,
Ice cream in hand,
Watching the tide come in,
The seagulls fly down,
Seeking food from the ground,
Making a right noisy din.
A walk to the fair,
We so loved it there,
And on the Big Dipper we ride,
Oh the fun that we have,
When with you I'm not sad,
I'm so happy when you're by my side.
All I have now are dreams,
It's the best it can be,
But that's not as bad as it seems,
When, my eyes close so tight,
Will I see you tonight?
Once again,
We'll be young,
You and me.

Jayne, I 'love' your story and its rhyming. Keep up the good work! ***** bri : ) and to my favorites on PH
Re: 'A walk to the fair, We so loved it there, And on the Big Dipper we ride, ', and I bet 'fair' means an amusement park & 'the Big Dipper' is a fun ride there, NOT a huge cluster of stars in the sky.
'Making a right noisy din.'...I bet many will not know what is meant by 'right'. I THINK it means 'truly' or 'truthfully' or 'certainly'. Hm?
Lovely poem. There comes a time when the world of dreams become so appealing. One is fortunate to be rewarded with beautiful dreams.
