Enemy Lines Poem by Courtney Shanahan

Enemy Lines

The face of my attacker haunts my memories
Her fist hit my picture perfect face
Kicked my ribs causing a scream to escape
She only disliked me but now I am her enemy
I am the only thing standing between her and the crown
She is determined to ruin everything
Everything I have worked hard for all my life
She hits me again causing my head to bleed
I fight back with all my might
Not letting her evil soul cover my heart
She runs
Runs to the gateway of Hell
Someone is kneeling next to me
They tell me she is gone but she will return
She didn’t finish the deed
When she returns, I’ll be ready
