Ensan, The One Who Forgets Poem by Massoud Abolfathi

Ensan, The One Who Forgets

Ensan, the one who forgets

It is only a door, a step forward that we get lost
It is only a step away that we lose it all
Nobody seems to laugh that is over
It is the story of the ones who find no name
No memory of the ones who left in the past
The reds, the Indians, the blacks, or maybe the wet backs
It is only a story like the other ones
Like the ones we read in our classroom common
It is only a fiction to live, and we lived it all
All the way to the bottom of the hell
But where the hell is if not the one we just stepped in
Forgetting is the name of the nature of the man ‘ensan*'
Common let's move to the darkness of a delighted world
No longer worry we lost the name
And tomorrow we run a new fiction named humanity
And now it is like again to gain another again
It is always the again of the same game we call it again
What the hell, it is the same that we sing along the game

*-Ensan is the word for human in Persian and Arabic, and it means by the Persian and Arabic dictionary the one who forgets! It is interesting that the word humanity in Persian and Arabic is 'Ensaniat'! !
