Enticing Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Enticing

What is it that draws your attention
And makes you want to have more?
What causes tunnel vision at the mention?
Possessing your mind with a roar.

What magnetizes and holds your view?
It could be a blurb with an attractive glint.
It’s an ad for something brand new for you.
Bold typed letters that yell at you in print.

Tugging and insisting you can’t do without.
Convincing you there’s an empty hole to fill.
If you have this item you will have more clout.
Reminding you each month on your credit bill.

Before it is paid for, you may put it on the shelf.
To sit and collect dust while your desires fade.
Losing enthusiasm; it no longer inflates yourself.
Possessions don’t always enhance your upgrade.
