Epic To Mama Ibeji (Mother Of Twins) Poem by Fawole Immanuel Taiwo

Epic To Mama Ibeji (Mother Of Twins)

All hail Mama Ibeji
Through whom her black pot
Two white paps materialised.
Through whose hardship and agony
I was granted asylum.

All hail Mama Ibeji
Who in nine moons' distress
Housed me in pleasure.
Whom through my discomfort
Gets discomforted.

Heavens I owe you
My dear mother.
A paradigm of an African woman.
An embodiment of decency.
An epitome of industry.

Your investment on me;
You cannot fully ripe.
Your loving-kindness;
I cannot 100%ly reciprocate,
Not for my ungrateful act but for your voluminous deeds.

Mama Ibeji!
To you I'm allegiantly indebted.
The absence of your life denies my presence.
Your existence gave me existence.
A priceless gem you are.

This is Mama Ibeji
Who never dares for her husband's worst.
This is Mama Ibeji,
A mother-of-pearls
And a good wife in the husband's lobby.

I could buy you apparels,
I could build you mansions,
I could sing you songs,
I could write you poems,
But all won't repay your largesse.

I could recollect bluntly
How myself and my counterpart
Would in hunger suck her two breasts simultaneously,
Even when the feeling is mutual on her.
You're such an indispensable phenomenon to my existence.

Heaven I beg you with;
Stay longer for your correcting chastise
Which keeps me going on the right path,
But do not stay longer
To see my demise.

Apocalypse it would murder
If her likes could tap from her.
Mama Ibeji!
Blessing it is having you.
Long may you reign in my affairs.
